Bible Study

We have been taught about the spiritual Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, but what we have NOT been taught is that God the Son has TWO ETERNAL natures – one as God the Son and the other as the Son of Man – Jesus Christ!

I believe there are numerous appearances of the Son of Man {called Christophanies} in the Old Testament. There is even Scripture sharing about the Lamb who was slain for the sin of the angels from the foundation of the world but no one shares about this: Daniel 3:23-25 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king [saw and] was astounded, and he jumped up and said to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered, True, O king. 25 He answered, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt! And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods! [Phil 2:5-8.] AMP

Revelation 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. NKJV

What will help you to better put this study into perspective is that we MUST remember that Christ is unchanging: So whatever He is TODAY, He was yesterday {from the era BEFORE time and history began}, He is TODAY and through tomorrow {the end of the age}. He is unchanging! God is unchanging! Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages). AMP Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. AMP

In the beginning was the Word…

To me this study is exciting because as we open it up we find more things about knowing just Who God is and Who God the Son/the Son of Man truly and actually is. I believe this will help you to have a more in depth knowledge of God the Son. Study the following different translations of John 1:1-2 to see Who is the Eternal Word? The New King James version starts John 1:1-2 with a title for Jesus: John 1:1-2 The Eternal Word (Gen 1:1-2:3) {Who is the Word – John 1:14 below?} 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning {in the era BEFORE time} with God. NKJV John 1:14 And the Word (Christ) became flesh {to me a better translation would be Christ “was born as”} (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth. [Isa 40:5.] {I believe Christ appeared in human form numerous times in the Old Testament which are known as Christophanies.} AMP The AMP translation helps John 1:1-2 to even have more clarity: John 1:1-2 IN THE beginning [{in the era} before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit}, and the Word was God {the Son/Son of Man} Himself. [Isa 9:6.] 2 He {God the Son/Son of Man} was present originally with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit making up the Trinity. Please note the presence of Jesus Christ/ Son of Man with God the Son and the Trinity in the beginning era/before all time.}. AMP 1 John 1:1-4 [WE ARE writing] about the Word of Life {see John 1:4} [in] Him Who existed from {before} the beginning {Genesis 1:1} , Whom we have heard, Whom we have seen with our [own] eyes, Whom we have gazed upon[for ourselves] and have touched with our [own] hands. 2 And the Life [an aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw [as eyewitnesses] and are testifying to and declare to you the Life {John 14:6}, the eternal Life[in Him] Who already existed with the Father {and the Holy Spirit} and Who [actually] was made visible (was revealed) to us [His followers]. 3 What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 4 And we are now writing these things to you so that our joy [in seeing you included] may be full [and your joy may be complete]. AMP Does this better help us to understand the eternality of Christ – Hebrews 13:8? Jesus has a most impressive list of characteristics and titles totaling over some 150 as found in BOTH the Old and New Testaments. Following are just a few that will help you to know Jesus a little better. Notice how intermingled they are in Scripture:
Jesus Christ as eternal; as God the Son the Second Person of the Trinity/Godhead; as Man; and the Word; as Life: John 1:1-2 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit}, and the Word was God Himself.  [Isa 9:6.] 2 He was present originally with {the Godhead}. AMP Jesus as Creator and as the mighty Word of Power and as the Light of the world: Hebrews 1:2-3 [But] in the last of these days He {God the Father} has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. 3 He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.

I am the Light of the world

When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high, AMP. John 8:12 Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world {cosmos/universe} He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life. AMP. 1 John 1:5 And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him {Jesus Christ} and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way]. AMP Jesus Christ as the potential personal Savior for every person who has ever lived: John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. AMP John 4:42 And they told the woman, Now we no longer believe (trust, have faith) just because of what you said; for we have heard Him ourselves [personally], and we know that He truly is the Savior of the world, the Christ. AMP 1 John 4:14 And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior of the world. AMP

Jesus Christ as Judge…

Jesus Christ as Judge of every person who has ever lived: Acts 17:31 Because He {God the Father} has fixed a day when He will judge the world righteously (justly) by a Man Whom He has destined and appointed for that task, and He has made this credible and given conviction and assurance and evidence to everyone by raising Him from the dead.  [Ps 9:8; 96:13; 98:9.] AMP John 5:30 I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord — but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me. AMP

Did Jesus eat physical sustenance in Eden?

As I close this lesson, let’s have a little fun! There is another possible characteristic of God/Man that we must consider, “Did Jesus eat physical sustenance grown in ‘Eden the Garden of God’ in the era BEFORE time and history began?” We know that Jesus physically ate food some 30 times during His human life on earth and we know that He physically ate food with His disciples AFTER His resurrection, and there will be a feast for the spiritual Saints in His Kingdom after His Second Coming so did He have need for physical food BEFORE time and history began? Mark 2:13-17 [Jesus] went out again along the seashore; and all the multitude kept gathering about Him, and He kept teaching them. 14 And as He was passing by, He saw Levi (Matthew) son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and He said to him, Follow Me! [Be joined to Me as a disciple, side with My party!] And he arose and joined Him as His disciple and sided with His party and accompanied Him. 15 And as Jesus, together with His disciples, sat at table in his [Levi’s] house, many tax collectors and persons [definitely stained] with sin were dining with Him, for there were many who walked the same road (followed) with Him. 16 And the scribes [belonging to the party] of the Pharisees, when they saw that He was eating with [those definitely known to be especially wicked] sinners and tax collectors, said to His disciples, Why does He eat and drink with tax collectors and [notorious] sinners? 17 And when Jesus heard it, He said to them, Those who are strong and well have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick; I came not to call the righteous ones to repentance, but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin). AMP Luke 24:41-43 And while [since] they {His disciples} still could not believe it for sheer joy and marveled {at His resurrection}, He {Jesus} said to them, Have you anything here to eat? 42 They gave Him a piece of broiled fish, 43 And He took [it] and ate [it] before them. AMP Acts 10:40-41 But God raised Him to life on the third day and caused Him to be manifest (to be plainly seen), 41 Not by all the people but to us {disciples} who were chosen (designated) beforehand by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. AMP Luke 14:15 When one of those who reclined [at the table] with Him {Jesus} heard this, he said to Him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God! AMP So, just how does the “Garden” fit in? I believe “Eden the Garden of God” and the “Garden of Eden” to be the SAME eternal entity but located at different places during different times and history.

Satan

I believe the Garden was with Jesus most everywhere. Satan too! Ezekiel 28:13-14 {At the beginning of time and history Satan} You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and your settings and your sockets and engravings were wrought in gold. On the day that you were created they were prepared.  [Gen 3:14, 15; Isa 14:12-15; Matt 16:23.] 14 You were the anointed cherub that covers with overshadowing [wings], and I set you so. You were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire [like the paved work of gleaming sapphire stone upon which the God of Israel walked on Mount Sinai].  [Ex 24:10.] AMP Genesis 3:8 And they {Adam and Eve} heard the sound of the Lord God {Jesus Christ} walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. AMP

Humans Created in the Physical Likeness of Jesus

PLEASE pray and meditate on this lesson. To me as we begin to understand more about Jesus, this makes many Scriptures including Genesis 1:27 easier to understand as we have God the Son/the Son of Man as Creator creating man in His {own spiritual} image AND {own physical} likeness. Think about this! This is where created man obtains his TWO natures of being spiritual AND physical: Genesis 1:27 So God {the Son} created man in His own image, in the {spiritual} image and {physical} likeness of God {the Son} He {spiritually and physically} created him; male and female He created them. [Col 3:9, 10; James 3:8, 9.] AMP

The beginning era/before all time

John 1:1-2 IN THE beginning [{in the era} before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit}, and the Word was God {the Son/Son of Man} Himself. [Isa 9:6.] 2 He {God the Son/Son of Man} was present originally with God {the Father and God the Holy Spirit making up the Trinity. Please note the presence of Jesus Christ/ Son of Man with God the Son and the Trinity in the beginning era/before all time.}. Spoke Creation into existence

Let’s now study God the Son/The Son of Man/Jesus Christ Who as the Word  SPOKE ALL of creation and the things of creation into visual existence: Psalms 33:9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. AMP
Psalms 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.  [Heb 11:3; 2 Peter 3:5.] AMP Psalms 148:5-6 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created. 6 He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away [He fixed their bounds which cannot be passed over]. AMP Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible. AMP

AMP Colossians 1:16 For it was in Him {God the Son/Son of Man/Jesus Christ} that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. Personal Savior

Jesus Christ as the personal Savior for every person who has ever lived: John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
